A Woodland Christmas

One major theme for Christmas this year is Woodland. Think owls, burlap, twigs, sticks and deer. It has been a very popular theme these past few years and has grown in popularity this year. So much can be done with this theme and you can even bring in items from the great outdoors. Here are some of the Woodland decorations we have at the Seasonal Shoppe;
This tree is a woodland tree with hints of red and gold. It is adorned with gold leaves, deer, antlers and wooden snowflakes. This tree is beautiful and is the perfect blend of classic Christmas colors and Woodland.

My Fall Fashion Favorites

I absolutely love Fall. It is a beautiful time of year. Here at the Seasonal Shoppe we are gearing up for Fall with new clothing and accessories. Here are some of my favorite pieces;

First, the hat. This hat is brown in color and has a flower in the front, off center. This hat would be perfect worn on those chilly Fall days and can even be worn in the Winter months as well.

Next is the necklace. This necklace is perfect. It is gold with a turquoise stone pendant. This necklace is rather long in length but great for that boho chic vibe.

The cardigan is very warm. It is brown and tan patterned with brown sleeves. It is full length and the collar folds slightly inward.

Also, the boot cuffs. These boot cuffs are crocheted and come in cream, black and grey. They are the perfect accessory to show off your Fall boots.

I paired these accessories with dark jeans, cream colored shirt, and brown knee length boots. I also paired it with my purse, also from the Seasonal Shoppe.

All of these items are available for purchase at the Seasonal Shoppe.

Happy Fall Ya'll!

Setting Your Fall Table

Fall will officially  be here in a couple of days and I am beyond excited. It is my favorite time of year. So I thought, why not do a Fall related post? I am going to show you how to set your dining room table for Fall. Lets go...

First, we began with this round table. We added a tan table cloth and 4 camel colored, scalloped edge, round placemats.

Next, we added some cream colored plates on top of our place mats.

Then we followed with a couple of smaller, cream, decorative plates on top.

Then we placed this wooden table turner with a Fleur-de-lis pattern in the middle of the table.

We then added this beautiful Fall flower arrangement on top of that.
'

Then we placed a cream colored butter dish on the table turner as well. This butter dish matches the
plates.

Then we added a bread bowl in the same pattern to the table.

Lastly, we added our napkins in the camel color, and turkey napkin rings. These napkin rings are chalkboard and can be used as place holders as well.

This is our finished project!

Being Thankful Isn't Just for Thanksgiving

As it is getting closer to Fall, we begin to think about Thanksgiving. All the statuses on Facebook automatically turn to the 20 something days of what we are thankful for. But why are we just thankful on Thanksgiving? We should express our gratitude every day. Sometimes the good things in life get overshadowed by the bad things. By taking just a couple minutes everyday we can put ourselves in a positive mindset and realize that it could always be worse. Lately I have discovered keeping a gratitude journal. All you have to do is write down one thing you are thankful for everyday and why. The goal is to keep it a whole year and not repeated the same thing twice. It can be big things or little things but it helps us tune in and realize we have so much to be thankful for. Here are a few journal options we have at the Shoppe;

Or you could even write this in a plain notebook or a notepad. So, I encourage you all to start your own gratitude journal and realize that we all have a lot to be thankful for.

I am thankful for my Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ because without him nothing would be possible.
Comment below what you are thankful for.

Creating a Coffee Station

Many of us love to start our day with a good ole' cup of joe. But, mornings can get hectic and racing around the kitchen to find your coffee, spoons, sugar, etc, can be frustrating. So, I created my very own coffee station. Not only is it practical but it adds a little décor to your kitchen. Here is how I did it;

This is all the things I had to try and organize. There are several k-cups, 2 bags of coffee, truvia, and tons of tea bags. This was all a big mess at first.
Here is my coffee pot. It is a yellow single cup Keurig. My goal was to have a place to keep my k-cups, tea, coffee, and truvia all in the same area because I use them all the time, and they all go together. I like to run hot water through my Keurig to steep my tea bags in.
So, first I took this tray from the Shoppe. It is a really pretty turquoise and cream color. I sat my Keurig on top of the tray. Then I placed all of my k-cups in a cream bowl that is from the Shoppe as well.

After that, I took my tea bags and placed them in mason jars. These mason jars actually came from the Shoppe as well. They initially had dish towels in them and were soap dispensers. I separated the tea by kind into two mason jars.
Then I placed both jars on the tray, and tucked my two bags of coffee in between the tea and bowl with k-cups.
Then, I added a cream vase that I placed spoons in. The vase also came from the Shoppe. Then I added a clear sugar holder from the Shoppe Here I placed all my truvia packets. Lastly, I added a chalkboard (from the Shoppe). I wrote, But First Coffee. on it. Here is the finished project;

This can be done in many different ways. I am thinking about hanging the chalkboard frame on the wall. I hope you all enjoyed. Have fun creating your very on coffee station.

A Touch of Fall

Fall is such a wonderful time of year. The leaves are changing colors, the hoodies come out, and the football games start. Another great thing about Fall is the decorations. But, how do you decorate for Fall without redoing your entire house? This can be a challenge, but by adding a few little touches you can bring Fall into your home without breaking the bank, Keep reading for some ways to incorporate Fall into the decorations you already have.

First, you can add a Fall wreath to your door. This is an orange burlap wreath that is in the shape of a pumpkin. It has a wood stem at the top. Attached is a burlap sign that says happy fall. This adds the perfect touch to your home. Here at the Shoppe we have a variety of wreaths, some of them are 50% off. Plus, we can create customized wreaths as well.

Center pieces are a great way to pull in a little fall without going overboard (ignore the highchair). Here I took a lantern and added two burlap pumpkins. The pumpkins have an orange chevron pattern, as well as a happy fall burlap tag. We can help you design the perfect center piece for your table at the Seasonal Shoppe. We can also make customized flower arrangements.

Simple pieces added throughout your house can have a major impact when it comes to Fall décor. I already had this sign up in my kitchen and I added these two blocks. One is cream and the other is orange. They have a wooden stem, making them favor a pumpkin. The sayings on these blocks are about being thankful. These blocks would be pretty anywhere in your home.

The last thing to do to add a little Fall into your home this season is pillows and throws. This is an orange throw that I have thrown over the back of the couch. One both sides of the couch I have burlap pillows. These pillows are adorned with give thanks pillow wraps. These wraps add a beautiful touch to your home. We have a variety of pillow wraps ranging from sayings to turkeys. We have something for everyone.

This is just a few of the things you can do to bring a little Fall into your home. All of these items are from the Seasonal Shoppe. Stop in and check out all of the Fall décor we have to offer. We have everything from table linens, to dishes, to scarecrows. If you have any questions or would like to place a customized order please call us at 606-349-3135.

Reducing Back to School Stress

The first of August is usually a dreaded time for students, teachers and parents alike. Back to school comes with a lot of excitement, but it always comes with a lot of stress. Is the backpack ready, what am I going to wear, have the kids had breakfast, what about lunch... the list goes on and on. So, here are 5 tips/strategies to reduce the stress that comes with back to school.

1. Plan Breakfasts for the Week

I know I have shown this weekly list before, but I absolutely love it for a variety of things. Start the week off on a good note by planning your breakfasts for the week. On Sunday, sit down with you kids and decide on their favorite breakfasts, pencil them in, and you know what to cook every morning. You may even be able to meal prep some of these things ahead of time, such as boiling eggs. This could also be used to plan lunches and dinners.

2. Create a Lunch/Snack Station

This is a really great idea for those of you who always seem to be running out the door. Place items that are frequently used for snacks/lunches in a bin in the refrigerator or counter. Then when it is time to pack lunch/snack just grab what items you need, throw them in the lunch boxes (which you can set out the night before to save time), and you're out the door.

3. Create a "Needs Signed" Box

Back to school comes with a lot of paper work. Permission slips need to be signed, medical forms need to be updated, etc. This can quickly turn into paper chaos. Many times these papers end up lost, and never get signed. By creating a "needs signed" box, your children can drop off all of their papers that you need to sign or look at, and you know exactly where they are. This tub would work great for a "needs signed" box, plus it will double as home décor.

4. Pick Out Outfits Ahead of Time
Have you kids pick there outfits out ahead of time. You can do this the night before or even on Sunday they could lay out all of their outfits for the week. This drastically reduces the time it takes to get ready in the morning and takes the work out of, what am I going to wear?

5. Fix Backpacks the Night Before
Also fix all backpacks, purses and sports bags the night before and have them waiting by the door. This way you can just grab them and go without all the fuss. These totes would make great bags for school.

All of the items pictured can be found at the Seasonal Shoppe, excluding the shoes, jeans and food. For more information or to place an order please call us at 606-349-3135.

Extending the Life of Your Summer Wardrobe!

Here at the Seasonal Shoppe we are having our huge End of Summer Sale! (Check out our Facebook page for all the details.) One huge part of our sale is that all women's summer clothing is 50% off. Now you may be thinking, "Why do I need summer clothing when it is almost fall?" But, did you know you can extend the life of your summer wardrobe with a few simple tricks. Here is an example:

Take this dress. It is a blue and white chevron, sleeveless dress from All For Color. This is one of the many dresses that is 50% off. In the summer time this dress would be cute paired with a simple piece of jewelry, some flats, or even some gladiator sandals. But, how could this possibly work for fall. Here's how;
First off, pay no mind to the box of decorations in the floor, I am still in the process of decorating. But, back to the outfit. This is that same dress as seen above, but to make it fall appropriate I added a few things. First, I added a dark brown belt to accentuate my waist. Then I threw on this tan cardigan. Any type of cardigan, jacket, or blazer would work great here. I also added some black leggings, we have these at the Shoppe, they are Mud Pie. These are the best leggings I have ever owned, plus you can't see through them. You could add a pop of color here as well with some colored leggings. Then I threw on my brown motorcycle boots. Any pair of riding boots would be great hear as well, or even some cute booties. This look can totally be made your own with your choice of cardigan, belt, leggings and shoes. Plus, throwing on a cute scarf, or a piece of statement jewelry would be adorable.
I just realized you can see the baby mobile in the picture (haha), just ignore that too. For this look I decided to do something a little different with this dress. This outfit would be great for work. I pulled on a tan skirt over top of the bottom of the dress, thus making the dress look like a shirt. Then I added a light brown belt to accentuate my waist again. This time I added a 3/4 length sleeve, orange cardigan. I paired it all together with a  pair of tan heals. This look can also be customized in a variety of ways, depending on the color and style of cardigan, belt, skirt, and shoes. A pair of flats would be great with this outfit, and you could change out the cardigan for a cute jacket.

By transforming your current summer pieces into outfits for fall, you are extending the life of your closet. Depending on the number of cardigans, jackets, shoes, etc. you have in your closet, you could wear this one dress several different ways, without anyone thinking your wearing the same clothes. So, stop in at the Shoppe this week and take advantage of these great savings on summer clothing.
